Tax Supervisor

2406074We are seeking a self-motivated individual to join our tax group as an experienced Tax Supervisor. The ideal candidate is someone who has experience with ASC 740, federal and state compliance, indirect tax, tax notices and audits. Ideal candidate will leverage previous experience to bring fresh insights and process improvements to the group and be willing to take on new challenges.
What you will do:
Tax Compliance
- Prepare and review monthly indirect tax accruals, reconcile sales and use tax, property tax, and other non-income tax accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Timely prepare/calculate tax return extensions, tax vouchers and quarterly estimated income taxes, work with accounts payable department to ensure payments are made/mailed and received by federal and state tax authorities.
- Roll forward and update the annual tax compliance tracking list.
- Review and update final consolidated trial balance file for external tax return service provider.
- Review and update US federal and state income tax return workpapers for external tax return service provider.
- Review US proforma returns, state unitary and state single entity tax returns prepared by external tax return service provider.
Tax Provision
- Prepare and review quarterly US book to tax differences schedules, state tax provision workpapers, and maintain data in tax provision excel file.
- Prepare and review US federal and state tax provisions and related return to provision analysis in accordance with US GAAP. Ensure current and deferred tax provisions are correctly calculated.
- Assist in income tax footnote preparation as needed.
- Support SOX 404 internal controls and testing and design as needed.
Other
- Support internal and external income tax audit requests, including preparing/updating requested workpapers and other information documentation etc.
- Research and prepare responses to tax notices from various tax jurisdictions.
- Assist in review of sales tax exemption certificates and maintenance (Vertex) as needed.
- Assist in business tax filings and other tax submissions as needed.
- Tax research and analysis to ensure compliance with tax law and regulation.
- Attending tax training to keep up to date on technical topics and new legislation procedures.
- Other tax related special projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar field with accounting focus.
- CPA or advance degree with emphasis in taxation preferred.
- 3-7 years tax experience with both federal and state taxes.
- US GAAP Financial Accounting/ASC 740 knowledge.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and good record keeping skills. Effective communication and business writing skills.
- Attention to detail, time management/prioritization skills. Respecting internal and external deadlines.
