2504887We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Developer for On-Prem and Azure/ Fabric DW to design, develop, and optimize enterprise-grade database solutions across both cloud (Azure) and on-premises environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with SQL Server, Azure Data Services, ETL pipelines, and performance tuning in large-scale, high-volume data ecosystems. You will work closely with data engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver robust, scalable, and secure data solutions that drive strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities:
Database Development:
- Design, develop, and maintain complex stored procedures, functions, views, and queries for both on-premises SQL Server and Azure SQL Database/Fabric DW.
- Create and manage tables, indexes, and database objects to ensure optimal performance.
Cloud Data Integration:
- Develop and optimize Azure Data Factory pipelines, Synapse Analytics data flows, and Azure Databricks integrations.
- Implement secure and efficient data movement between on-prem SQL Server, Azure Data Lake, and other cloud services.
ETL & Automation:
- Develop and schedule ETL/ELT workflows using SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or other automation frameworks.
- Leverage PowerShell, Python, or other scripting languages for process automation.
Performance Tuning & Optimization:
- Conduct query performance analysis and apply indexing, partitioning, and caching strategies.
- Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks in large datasets and complex ETL processes.
Data Modeling & Architecture:
- Collaborate with architects to design logical and physical database models.
- Implement best practices for data governance, quality, and lineage tracking.
Collaboration:
- Partner with BI teams, application developers, and analysts to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers and data engineers.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience with SQL Server development and database administration concepts.
- 3+ years of experience in Azure data services, including Azure SQL Database, Synapse Analytics, Data Lake, and Data Factory.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in T-SQL, query tuning, and database design.
- Strong experience with ETL tools (SSIS, Azure Data Factory) and data integration best practices.
- Hands-on experience with hybrid (on-prem + cloud) data architectures.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for database deployments.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work in fast-paced, agile environments.
Additional Requirements:
- Experience with Azure Databricks, Spark, or other big data processing tools.
- Exposure to data warehousing solutions and dimensional modeling.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect.
- Familiarity with data visualization platforms such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Knowledge of ETL tools or data integration frameworks (e.g., SSIS, Azure Data Factory).
- Exposure to data governance, data quality, and master data management concepts.
