The Marketing Content Writer is a key team member helping drive the Marketing team’s mission of the right message, to the right customer, at the right time. In this role, the individual will directly contribute to supporting and expanding our marketing capabilities, both in print and digital formats, with a specific focus on content writing.

Primary responsibilities will include delivering superior quality, multi-format content for customer facing assets as well as internal communications. This includes developing and producing high-quality short-form and long-form content for the following uses:

  • UniFirst website content
  • Service and product descriptions
  • Sales and Marketing collateral
  • Case studies
  • White papers
  • Social media channel material (varied)
  • Video scripts and treatments
  • Other marketing pieces as assigned

The individual will also contribute to UniFirst’s social media outreach and developing video and multimedia features. This role will support the needs of the Marketing Operations, Creative, and Strategy teams as they may develop new product offerings, campaigns and go-to-market strategies. This role will require staying current on content best practices, and learn how to apply those learnings to our industry-specific needs. Key focuses will include proper project management skills, budgeting, and reporting. The position requires strong editing, reporting, and writing skills, as well as the ability to produce and coordinate posts and articles within our online workflow management system. Responsibilities: 

  • Develop multi-format content for a variety of platforms, including blogs, case studies, web pages, social media, internal communications, and others as needed.
  • Develop creative ideas to write sound, accurate feature-length articles and shorter pieces on customer trends, ideas, products, services, and business solutions in the uniform and textiles industry.
  • Work closely with the Content and Creative team in planning and coordinating material, for both short-form and long-form development with a focus on search engine rankings.
  • Acquire and substantively edit and shape social content from various UniFirst locations throughout North America. Draft compelling article titles and intro text.
  • Review and copyedit content proofs.
  • Support the development and direction of themes and editorial and design components; and assist in managing production schedules.
  • Conduct original interviews and create multimedia content to accompany publications and online products.
  • Contribute to and effectively monitor social media channels.
  • Take the lead on reviewing, organizing, and responding to Google reviews working with Marketing Content and Digital managers.
  • Monitor content analytics and report out relevant metrics related to the success of the blog and other programs.
  • Develop knowledge of trends and issues in uniforms and textiles industry
Qualifications

Requirements: 

  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • 2-3 years of content writing experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of social media with a focus on Facebook and Google locations for business and LinkedIn.
  • Demonstrable strong writing, communication, and editing skills preferably in digital channels
  • Familiarity with SEO and SEM writing best practices
  • Comfortable creating short length videos and audio content.
  • Driven and hard working
  • Self-starter, capable of working independently and within collaborative environments
  • Ability to take direction and multi-task
  • Strong organizational skills
  • WordPress, Microsoft Office, Adobe, Excel, Microsoft Teams experience a plus
  • Natural curiosity and willingness to learn
  • Team player
  • Able to adapt to changing needs in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter
