UniFirst Corporation’s Leadership Development Manager will be a part of a growing and evolving Talent Management Team. The primary responsibility for the Leadership Development Manager will be to design, develop and deliver leadership and professional development offerings to leaders and team members across the organization. The Leadership Development Manager is resourceful, customer-focused and team oriented, with outstanding communication skills, has the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders, is able to shift gears at a moment's notice, and enjoys the challenges of developing and improving processes in a dynamic organization. They are highly autonomous and have a proven track record in taking on end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment. The successful candidate will also have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, superior attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities will include designing, developing and delivering companywide programs focused on leadership and professional development and implementing cutting-edge learning solutions that will take UniFirst’s learning programs to the next level.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and deliver highly visible leadership and professional development programs that demonstrably improve leaders' abilities to build high-performing teams and drive organizational performance at all levels within the organization.
  • Leads learning design projects through the design lifecycle from project scoping, research and analysis, design, development, implementation, and success measurement.
  • Deliver instructor-led classes and programs (in person or virtual).
  • Contribute to the design and development of exercises, tutorials, job aids, assessments, and other methods of learning strategies.
  • Establish and oversee consistent processes to effectively and efficiently design and develop training materials and programs to best suit the needs of the content (e.g., includes online, classroom, virtual and in person instructor-led training and blended learning options).
  • Perform needs analyses using available data and evaluate program results to continuously improve learning effectiveness and deliver results.
  • Ability to coach and influence leaders at all levels to understand their role in employee development and help build their skills.
  • Consult with business areas on their specific talent development needs that could include advanced facilitation of group meetings, team building and change management efforts, and 360 assessments and development coaching.
  • Manage all logistics for assigned programs including enrollment processes, conference room scheduling, travel arrangements as needed, materials etc.
  • Provide support to other key projects within the department such as performance management, succession planning, high potential development, etc.
  • Ensure integration of a diversity, inclusion and engagement lens into relevant processes and frameworks.
  • Act as a change agent; provides consultation to influence and enhance the abilities of others to effect change.
  • Collaborate and build buy-in for new approaches, and recommendations that will evolve over time.
Qualifications

Experience

  • 8-10 years of proven success in creating, implementing, and facilitating leadership and development programs.
  • Positive relationship building and listening skills, and comfortable presenting to a variety of employees and leaders at all levels.
  • Proven commitment to developing a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  • Excellent program development and project management skills.
  • Certifications in assessment/feedback instruments (e.g. DISC, MBTI, TKI, Social Styles, 360 assessments, Emotional Intelligence EQ-i2.0 etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others and collaborate with cross-functional partners.
  • Proven ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, work independently, and deliver results in an evolving and fast-paced organization.
  • Able to deal with change and desire to make a difference is paramount, we are looking for someone who loves to build learning opportunities from the ground up.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and storytelling skills; must be capable of communicating information to diverse audiences in a virtual environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize workloads, self-motivated and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Human Resources or Training and Development preferred

Additional Requirements

  • Minimum age requirement of 21+.
  • Ability to travel occasionally as required – up to approximately 10%.
