Compensation Manager - UniFirst

2505329The Compensation Manager is a critical leader overseeing the team responsible for developing, analyzing, implementing and administering UniFirst’s compensation programs. The Compensation Manager will lead key projects, work cross functionally within the organization and manage a team of compensation professionals. This role will report to the Director of Global Benefits and Compensation.
Responsibilities:
• Regularly monitors and evaluates company compensation programs including base pay, bonus, incentive & commission plans, deferred compensation, and equity plan
• Partners with leadership on Compensation Strategy development and execution
• Ensures compensation programs are aligned and relevant to both the market and business conditions, while also integrated with key business and Total Rewards/HR strategies
• Responsible for annual merit, bonus, deferred compensation and equity planning processes
• Develops compensation framework for market pricing, job design and other compensation programs
• Establishes policies and procedures that are scalable to promote consistent pay practices across the organization
• Develops and redesigns pay programs and practices that are transparent while eliminating unnecessary complexity
• Oversees compliance with all minimum wage, wage and hour, FLSA and other applicable federal and state wage laws.
• Responsible for talent development and management of a team of compensation professionals.
• Partners closely with Executive Team on compensation related matters and projects; serves as trusted compensation advisor
Requirements:
• Minimum 7 years of progressive compensation experience; 1-2 years of management /supervisory experience
• Strategic thinker, effective delegator and highly organized
• Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
• Experience managing equity, bonus, sales compensation and incentive plans preferred
• Strong analytical skills: ability to analyze and work with large sets of data
• Strong understanding of HR processes, data and HR Technology (PeopleSoft experience is a plus)
• Strong project management skills, ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities
• Ability to effectively communicate (oral and written) to all levels in the organization
• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
• CCP, PHR/SHRM-CP certifications a plus.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required.
Additional Requirements: Travel as necessary.
