2503105Performs both sewing and quality control function for the Graphic Department. Operates single and multi‐ head embroidery machines to produce Direct Embroidery and Emblem design samples, for the Graphic Department. Process also requires use of Embroidery, Merrow and Die Cutting, and hooping equipment. Operates computer and other peripheral electronic equipment to complete job assignments
Responsibilities:
- Reads electronic document(s) to determine design requirements. Tracks/records completed work as required.
- Adjusts and regulates machine settings and materials as required based on instructions: Embroidery, Merrow, and Die Cutting Equipment and Rethreads machine (color changes).
- Prepares work (paperwork, hooping, etc) simultaneously, while the machines are in operation.
- Gets supplies as needed. Replaces defective needles as necessary/required.
- Daily responsibilities include:
- Keeping workstation and work areas clean, keeping cut swatches and garments (seconds) neatly folded and stored away.
- Maintaining productivity level as instructed.
- Performs minor machine maintenance, following guidelines included in work instructions.
- Report malfunctions to Lead, Production Supervisor, or Staff Mechanic.
- Performing all functions in a safe manner, in accordance with safety policies.
- Job will include cross‐training in other Personalization production areas and the Distribution Center.
- Proofs design by checking size and arrangement of design and comparing against Graphic documentation (art requirements).
- Enter information into computer equipment.
- May be requested to print illustrations, copy design files, paste and/or e‐mail art or embroidery files to Locations and/or Branches, or Owensboro Customer Service.
- Can copy/convert designs as required.
- Documents all issues within Personalization Automated Workflow documents.
- Notes any design requests for Registered or Trademarked designs, provides documents to Locations and Branches, to obtain authorization from customers.
- Prints, collates, and prepares paperwork for the Sample Sew‐Out staff.
- May be required to perform functions in other production areas on a temporary basis as required.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Minimum of one year related to experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand English, and comprehend and write general business correspondence, interpret internal production documentation, equipment manuals, technical bulletins, container labels, MDS, and other written internal documentation. Ability to communicate and respond to questions from management, and other staff members.
