2601750As the QA Manager, you will be principal in maintaining our ISO 9001 and 14001 credentials, and the overall implementation of our quality program. In addition, you will play an important role in our Health Physics and Regulatory Compliance programs.
The position involves the following responsibilities in both QA Management and Radiation Protection.
- Maintain our ISO 9001 and ISO credentials, oversee our internal audit program, and perform internal audits at the corporate office.
- Assist plant personnel, as needed, in performing their location-specific internal audits, occasionally perform their internal audits, remotely and/or onsite.
- Track quality indicators of plant performance and compliance with our established Quality Goals.
- Report performance of the quality system to the corporate management team during quarterly Management Review Meetings, and situationally as appropriate.
- Act as UniTech's liaison with external parties, including customers and external credentialling bodies, on matters relating to the quality system.
- Manager the Quality System procedures, including procedures related to Operations, Radiation Safety, and Sales and Marketing.
- Administer UniTech’s Corrective Action Request (CAR) program to include authorization and closeout of corrective action requests. Assist and support plant locations with their locally generated CARs.
- Monitor provider qualifications and corrective actions to ensure they meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Knowledge and experience in nuclear terminology, health physics, and operational and managerial radiation protection duties.
- Review and interpret radiological analytical data for regulatory and procedural compliance. Maintain analytical databases in an organized manner.
- Perform onsite audits of the health physics/radiation safety and regulatory compliance programs.
- Track the performance of corporate responsibilities.
- Assist the Director, Health Physics and Engineering, with the overall implementation of department programs.
- Maintain radiological and transportation permits and registrations.
- Support plant operations due to staffing shortages at plant locations, including the performance of radiological protection duties.
- Oversee plant recordkeeping, including the generation of electronic records and maintenance of databases.
- Maintain the company’s radiation dosimetry program.
- Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned by leadership.
- Bachelor’s or higher degree.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and 14001. Five years of experience in quality-related programs.
- Radiation Safety experience, NRRPT preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
- Communication skills, verbally and in writing, with plant-level workers and corporate management.Adept computer skills. Windows® operating systems and Microsoft® software.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as with fellow colleagues.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to produce high-quality products and adhere to deadlines.
- Ability to travel independently throughout the US and internationally. Travel is estimated at 20%, typically eight to twelve weeks/trips per year.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs., walk for periods of 2 hours, and climb stairs and ladders.
