UniFirst First Aid + Safety is seeking a reliable and hardworking Fire Safety Compliance Manager to join our community. As a Fire Safety Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of fire safety licensing and regulatory compliance across the United States. This role ensures that both company and technician licenses are obtained, tracked, and maintained in accordance with local, state, and federal requirements to prevent service disruptions. Serving as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies, this position collaborates closely with field teams, leadership, and external agencies to ensure seamless compliance and program integration. Our standard is a 5-day work week, enjoy two days off a week. We have an immediate opening and provide on the job training.

What you’ll be doing

  • Oversee and maintain fire safety company and technician licenses across all U.S. states, ensuring timely renewals, accurate documentation, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Apply for new licenses, liaise with regulatory agencies (state/county/city fire marshals), and serve as the primary compliance contact.
  • Manage Inspect Point licensing, technician eligibility, training certifications, and recordkeeping.
  • Provide daily leadership to compliance team partners, including future hiring, training, performance management, and workflow support.

  • Maintain SharePoint documentation and workflows, including licensing requirements, COIs, forms, rollout resources, and communication tools.

  • Support program development and reporting in partnership with the Fire Program Manager.

  • Partner with field technicians, purchasing, sales, and leadership to ensure alignment, pricing updates, and fire program consistency.

  • Manage fire program leads in Dynamics CRM and ensure accurate information distribution for sales/service support.

  • Coordinate onboarding tasks including welcome communications, licensing setup, systems access, uniform orders, travel arrangements, expense support, and training logistics.

  • Maintain FSS-related lists, location maps, instructor IDs, and internal permissions.

  • Assist with training operations including scheduling, surveys, reporting, van logistics, equipment shipping, and ATL events.

  • Support SCS with commission sheets, rosters, customer inquiries, and platform assistance.

  • Administer internal contests and engagement initiatives.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably required by the Manager or Supervisor.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Valid non-commercial driver’s license and safe driving record.

  • 3–5 years of experience in compliance coordination, licensing administration, regulatory affairs, or a similar role.

  • Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Regulatory Affairs, Public Safety, or a related field preferred.

  • Relevant certifications in compliance, licensing, or safety (e.g., NFPA, OSHA, or industry-specific training) are a plus.

  • Experience working with state and local regulatory agencies, preferably in the fire safety, construction, or facilities industry5+ years of category management, sourcing, or procurement experience.

  • Strong background in administrative support and document management.

  • Previous experience using CRM systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics), ERP systems (e.g., Sage), and document sharing platforms (e.g., SharePoint).

  • Familiarity with fire safety programs, technician onboarding, and licensing processes is highly preferred.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact with internal teams, external agencies, and field staff.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, document handling, and compliance tracking.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and file management tools.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.

  • Occasional travel may be required for training coordination or licensing meetings.

  • Ability to lift and carry 30 lbs.
